"A Taste Of
Bittersweet"
2005 found Shane and his family in
great sadness. On April 1, 2005, Shane's nephew, Brandon, and two of his friends, Shawn and Chris, were killed in a
car accident in southern Florida. Shane was destroyed and heartbroken. He abandoned his studio projects and left
his job as resident DJ at the club in Indiana.
"My whole family was devastated. My
mother, Anita, had passed on in April of 2000 and now my nephew. We didn't know what to do. My sister went into
severe depression and a big hole opened in our family. I was very close to Brandon and good friends with Chris and
Shawn. Their loss inspired a few songs on my new CD, but more importantly it reminded me of how very, very
important family is."
"When he passed, I was working on a
few projects in the studio, one which I released in 2008 called "Take-5" and its sister CD called "Take-5 For
Love." My heart was really into it and they both got a lot of airplay, especially in
Europe."
